  1. I was dateless for many years before I dated my first white male. Now Asian guys give us looks when we walk down the street holding hands. I hear Asian guys complaining about white guys stealing their girls. Judge all you want, but why should I be single and lonely so as not to offend your masculinity?

  2. I'm 5'7 and I constantly feel as if I tower over people, boys included. I'm sorry I'm not small and adorable.

  3. To the girls:

I love Asian girls because they're submissive, clean, slept with less men, easier to score, won't talk back, and still looks great after 30.

Now, you're trying to figure out if I'm Asian or not because you don't know if you should be feeling repulsed or interested.

now ask yourself, are you a racist?

  4. Dear Asian women: I would love to date you. If only I could afford to buy LV bags and Jimmy Choos.

  5. RE: LV & Jimmy Choos...

I used to avoid Asian women because I was turned off by their materialsm and label-whoreyness.

It's a good thing I stopped generalizing like that, because the Asian woman who eventually became my wife is smart, beautiful, assertive, and she doesn't give two shits about LV, Jimmy Choo, Burberry, Gucci, etc.

And, get this... she loves me even though I'm Asian! Go figure.

Lesson learned: don't generalize, and have faith that there are smart, beautiful, assertive non-materialistic Asian women out there. But you never know until you ask them out.

  6. Dear white men: I would love to date you. If only my eyes were as slanty as Lucy Liu's.

  7. "The difference with postsecret.com is that there are no comments, which means no one has to see their secrets mocked."

A good suggestion for Postmimi. Turn off the comments!

  8. Don't turn off the comments. It's good for discussion to be born from a genuine confession. Those who put their secrets out there should know that, once a secret is told, it doesn't belong to them anymore. And they shouldn't read the comments. Plus, it is clear that the blog administrator is cleaning up comments well enough. I wish Post Secret allowed commentary. It further connects a person's statement to the rest of us.

  9. Perhaps a general discussion would be most effective rather than having comments to specific posts?

After all, commentary is certainly beneficial but I'm sure comments can apply to many different situations and in general.

  10. we generalize all the time. important is that we recognize that. know the limitations of our generalizations and consistently be open to (perhaps even "be on the look out for") the exceptions. one's appeal/repulsiveness, after all, lies only in the ways one stands out among peers.

if you see a pattern, and you don't like it, the easiest but least productive response would be to criticize and complain. as gandhi has said, "be the change you want to see in the world", or at the very least positively reinforce it.
